I understand the logic, but I think it’s probably better to just focus on enforcement against scam perpetrators regardless of the mechanism they use (I remember seeing a lot of pyramid scheme scams back in the internet of the late 90s). I think cryptocurrency is broken in a lot of other ways and may even in in a solarpunk future need to be banned in order to stop a hash-rate arms race disassembling the plane into a Dyson swarm, but even then it’s best to focus on the principles behind the problem rather than the specific technology. |
