Chances are, it's normal and expected.

20 years into my career, that also happens to me when I start a new job. You're working with an unfamiliar codebase. It takes time to learn; especially if your assumptions are different than the assumptions made in the code.

In my experience, you'll do much better if you have open communication with your team and manager.

While it may feel scary, it creates a personal connection and will provide you with much needed feedback.
