> if anything sticking to IPV4 will lead to more "selective" use. That's a scarcity mindset and isn't useful in this case. Who cares if "low" value things use the internet? Imagine a network in rural Africa. It can't pay market rates for IP addresses but would be extremely valuable for its users. IP addresses aren't a negative externality like pollution or traffic, they're an artificial construct. So restricting them doesn't actually help people, and making them abundant is a huge benefit to literally everyone. |
