They got a lot more than they ever expected and I think that's the right number. I remember checking it a few times and couldn't believe how successful the campaign was.

Yep - that is the right number. I was backer #15 (I think) and just watched the numbers climb and climb. It was pretty amazing.

Keep in mind that in this case "funding" also equals pre-orders for the actual pens at half the price they intend to eventually sell them for.
