It's true that no-one wants war. That includes Russia, actually.

The whole "war is coming" is pushed by the US for some reason and the public buys it. As you can see it even allows the US to claim "victory" when Russia stays put.

Can someone explain why Russia put 150k troops on the border if they weren't trying to do anything?

They announced a "pull back" today. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/02/15/ukraine-concerns-ease-on-rep...

Of course they are trying to do something (and so are the US). But what is it? Are they planning military action or doing a show of strength to send a message?

I think propaganda and disinformation runs high on both sides at the moment so that it's not straightforward to get an idea of what is really going on.

There is no way to know, that's the entire point. The moment you don't take it seriously is the time they conduct a military action.

It's best to be critical of what we're told either way... This includes wondering what it's in it for the US. I doubt it is Ukraine per se, and even if it is we can also wonder what the US are doing there so there is definitely more than meets the eye.
Has any of the new information changed your mind on this issue? It seems most of western intelligence was correct on Putin's actions and intentions.
