My workplace is returning to the office, but at the same time our headquarters is being split into suburban satellite offices. Teams are being spit strictly by geography, where pre-pandemic we were all in the central office. Satellite offices will be great for many commuters, but it means that even though we’re “in the office,” we’ll eventually be in three or four different offices, and every meeting will be a Zoom meeting (except for one-on-ones, if your supervisor happens to be located in your office). It’s too early yet to see if this will be any better than working entirely remote (except that my chair at the office is much better than my chair at home). |
