You seem to be missing or intentionally ignoring some additional facts:

* his addiction was caused by the increase in his prescribed dosage (so he could cope with his wife's cancer diagnosis and treatment - which was initially considered terminal by her doctors) * he had to look for alternative treatments after his wife's cancer treatment has started working and he tried to cut back on his dosage, unsuccessfully (he tried to go practically cold turkey by his own admission, which made it worse, you can criticize him for not handling it properly) * to my knowledge, he's still doing the all meat diet to this day, along with his daughter (since it keeps her symptom free after years of severe autoimmune disease)

Most opponents to Peterson don't know the first thing about him. It's quite sad because they're the same types that think COVID misinformation is something to worry about.
