Why using the name of a cryptocurrency for something that has nothing to do with it??

Ripple crypto doesn't own that name in any domain other than crypto so it can be used in other applications without an issue. The name makes a great deal of sense in this context since mmWave uses tiny waves; otherwise known as ripples.
