I've been curious why people hate on the "algorithm" sorting that Twitter, FB, and IG use instead of chronologically.

Clearly, all of those companies have found that immense value in algorithmic content adds to their business (and their users?). If theses algorithms weren't effective at keeping people engaged, then they would not exist.

What data do naysayers have about chronological sorting being better?
