I'm inclined to believe it's wrong data. It could be there was some so-called return immigration, with Chinese-Brazilians going to China during the times of high unemployment rate on Brazil (as lots of Japanese-Brazilians did). But as a Brazilian I've never heard of that, so 50k sounds implausible. |
