Really? I don't recall members of "our own tribe" sitting down and cranking out 2 hours of VHS video takedowns of "the web" or "email".[0]

No, you had members of the dying tribe do that. Time will tell if this is the same thing or not.
This prompts an interesting question! Even though I'm a crypto fan I have a hard time thinking that this will cause some giant rift in tech. But it seems like it may already have!

If theoretically many anti-crypto people do turn out to be the dying tribe, what does that mean? What does that future world look like? What does the living tribe end up looking like?

It looks a lot like no more blockbuster, things more like Netflix, and a whole bunch of people selling their music on Spotify and bandcamp.

Basically, some people don't make it, some new ones do, and a lot of people adapt, some reluctantly or disgruntled and some realize they were wrong.

I might be the one realizing I'm wrong, but of course I doubt it.

No, the dying tribe never went to these extensive lengths and exhibited this level of disgust toward the web or email during its initial rise.
What was the dying tribe in your example? Like how would you define it.
