This will obviously happen when there is no enforcement against it. If the last two years showed us anything it’s that the federal and state governments are all talk when it comes to COVID and can’t be bothered to enforce any of their so-called mandates.

You know what would help fight these forgeries? Visible consequences for producing and possessing them.

How would you propose we start doing that?
Well we kind of can’t, now, since the design of the existing ones are so easily faked. If we could do them over again:

1. Go back in time and use one or more anti-forgery features of drivers licenses to at least make them hard to forge

2. Hold retailers accountable who fail to check or accept a forgery (like we do for liquor stores checking ID)

3. Consequences for possession of forged documents

4. Find and go after producers of them. This can’t be hard—the police could probably find quite a few just with a web search.
