I've been following this case since it started (and found it quite troubling), and have a few questions: - what instructions or laws was Prof. Chen accused of not following (i.e., what was the language in the grant application instructions)? Federal awards aren't always clear so curious what details the case came down to. - Are there consequences to the government for having ~20 FBI agents showing up for something that ultimately didn't event have enough support to continue the case? - does the government compensate individuals when they've substantially damaged someone's life without enough evidence for a case? Can an individual even sue the government for damages? All genuine questions -- would love to understand how government power against individuals is kept in check. |
