Yes Kobo instead of being the “open” EPUB alternative to kindle tried to close the system forcing users to log in. Last time I bought a kobo I was travelling and I needed to trick the system to let me in without registering and so on. Pretty much you buy a $150 device for read EPUB files and the first thing ask you is to connect to the network and register. I will never buy another kobo again. Kindle is the worst. Hoping to find an alternative really open. |
