You probably hold humans too highly then. I don't find it surprising at all. Were just slightly better chimps, which are coincidentally one of the most unnecessarily violent creates in nature.

I definitely disagree with this, but I agree that we are unnecessarily violent, akin to chimps.

Humans have gained incredible amounts of knowledge, I struggle to understand why there is still such a tendency towards mass violence.
