I think the answer lies with the ‘aesthetic usability effect’, which is a well studied phenomenon. Basically people find visually appealing UI more usable even if it is objectively worse. https://www.nngroup.com/articles/aesthetic-usability-effect/ Of course what we find aesthetically pleasing is a subjective function of our life experience. |
