Tying yourself to a location creates a hard dependency on local circumstances and conditions, specifically policies and politics. Only since fairly recently have people in the tech industry been able to make a living independent of their location and the place they live in particular. Intentionally giving up that privilege again is a trade-off not many will be willing to make. |
