This one depends on both the field you are in as well as your own academic philosophy OP. If the paper is enough to reproduce the results AND cleaning up the code can/is tedious, then adding the "code and data are available upon request" note seems both fair and justified. That way, whoever wants the code can still ask for it and it does not lay an unnecessary burden on the author. |
