I'd take 'shitty code' than runs flawlessly for years on end, over non-shitty code that doesn't. I've worked with too many 'architecture astronauts' over the years who over-design everything based on the latest-and-greatest thing they just read online someplace, and make it so complex no one understands how it works, or how to maintain it, and often doesn't do what it was intended. |
