They promised to keep a read-only instance running for ever, so I hope it will come online. Nevertheless I think switching to mavenCentral is a better choice it wasn't already done by now.
Even if you do switch to mavenCentral, there's only so much you could do about your dependencies. Unfortunately we still depend on JCenter's snapshot too much.
