It's certainly not a necessity, but it can help. Back when I used to work as a consultant I got 3 good clients mostly via LinkedIn, including a Fortune 500 company that cold messaged me. As for regular employment, there's often a multitude of ways to apply, so LinkedIn isn't necessary. If you need a good LinkedIn profile to get hired, well, that's another debate. |
