I'm not very familiar with neurostimulation. How are control groups handled? Since you have to zap the brain, it seems to me that patients would always know if they are in a control group or not. So then how could the results be attributed to neurostimulation over just placebo? |

Having undergone TMS I can tell you that you definitely know when the device fires. There’s a thwack (similar I guess to a light rubber band hit maybe?) and muscle twitches.
