Why does Germany care if there is an additional option for other countries?

Because of a rampant anti-nuclear voters that always support everything anti-nuclear and whenever anything with nuclear is mentioned you need to be seen as opposing it, no matter what or where.

Because nuclear accidents don't stop at the border. And besides nuclear being the most expensive options, it's still not safe, nor a solved problem for futute generations. You just cannot keep going on poisoning the world.

i think i agree with "You just cannot keep going on poisoning the world." in spirit.. but doesn't this mean germany should be fighting against new co2 emitting plants rather than making fewer alternatives (and relying on natural gas/imported energy at home?)

seems like a case where there are two evils and one is way lesser!
