I would just like to put in my $0.02 on this one.

I worked for St. Jude in the past, and it is one of the most delightful workplaces I have had the opportunity to be a part of.

It is a shockingly positive environment given the nature of their mission. People there joke that it’s “the last place you ever work.”

People on HN talk about feeling soul-sucked by work… well, if you want to know that what you’re doing matters, it’s hard to do better than helping cure child cancer.

I'm somebody who has really wanted to apply for these jobs since they've started being posted. Can you speak to the requirements for hard CS education? I'm a self-taught engineer who has moved up the ranks, so I can say with a high degree of confidence that I could do the work, but I usually don't bother with organizations who put CS degrees as requirements as they've wasted my time in the past by suggesting they could be flexible and then turning around and saying it's a hard requirement. Did you work with any programmers with non-traditional educations?
