The statistics would seem to support a slightly more optimistic view: https://www.google.com/intl/en/ipv6/statistics.html I see a linear trend that, once adoption started in earnest around 2015 has seen about 30% of users being converted to iPv6. At some point, it’ll be more common to run into issues with v4, which will drive more adoption. The toolchain now needs. To support v6 and defaults using it will become more common. The conversion will limit the scarcity of v4 to some extend, but continued growth of internet access and connected devices adds pressure on the other side. |
