Talking may not feel helpful but I think if you try it and are open to the thoughts and suggestions shared by others it could help. I had a period of my life about 12 years ago (I was 39/40 years old) where I felt similar to you. Everything I did and had in my life seemed pointless and I felt like I was just waiting around to see it all inevitably crash and burn. When I went in public all I saw was a mass of people I felt completely disconnected from and wondered what problems and fears they were hiding. Panic attacks, difficulty getting out of bed. After a long mental struggle with myself assuming that the way I felt couldn’t be fixed I went to the doctor and started therapy. Aside from treatment for depression, it turned out that due to stress my testosterone had crashed and was below 100 (600-800) is normal. What you are feeling is a chemically induced state we interpret as feelings. Please don’t assume that feeling can’t be changed. With a bit of perspective and chemical correction you will be amazed how much better things can be and you can find your purpose and drive again. It will take time and it will take work, but it is worth it. Don’t let your brain lead you astray, it can play tricks on you and of course, it all feels real. |

I wonder if its more common than we realize.
