Data Engineering or ML ops, it has same kind thing going on that data science had 5 years ago. Nowadays it feels that most DS is just glorified Data analysts.
With AWS sagemaker like services MLops is also getting easier. Yes data engineering still requires significant work.
I personally think people with business and technical sense will remain relevant.
business sense -> understand or identify right problems.
Technical sense -> can find quick solutions, most of the time just with co-code or autoML tools
