I've been tracking my daily activities in detail for 5 years now and I greatly appreciate the insights it provides into my own behavior and health. I love reading these kinds of articles to see that I'm not alone in this particular obsession and also for tips on how other people do it. For my system I have repurposed Org Mode's clocking feature and run a dedicated Emacs instance in a terminal window. I then have a bunch of R scripts for visualizations: https://github.com/he-sk/timelog The main disadvantage is that I need to enter activities manually when I have been away from the computer. I just save notes in my smartphone but it's a bit annoying. |
