I had a breakthrough case after being double vaxxed with moderna, I'm a programmer, I had the equivalent symptoms to a 3 day sinus infection and it was seemingly not a big deal....

BUT

It fucked up my cognition profoundly for a month, and it was 4 months before I was back to normal.

It was like nothing else I've ever experienced.

This is not something to get if you are a knowledge worker and want to keep your ability to work.

I'm in my mid 30s.

It fucked up my cognition profoundly

What do you mean?

I haven't gotten COVID-19 (to my knowledge) but a common symptom is "brain fog"- basically the inability to clearly form thoughts in your head. I know as a programmer, being able to keep huge systems in my head is profoundly important to the job so any effect on that would be detrimental. Coupled with the added stress of the pandemic (and everything else) in general and I could see it being really hard.
Exactly that.

Unable to complete any appreciable work as a result. I also lost access to a lot of words, where I would pause mid-sentence because the word wouldn't come to mind.

It took my nearly 4 months before that tapered off to the point that it stopped happening, I'm still not sure if it was because the associative links came back or because my brain garbage collected the index.
