Is Learning this skill/achieving this long term goal for self improvement worth it? Will AI manage to do this in a few years and make this skill worthless? It’s very hard to know what skills to invest in during the rise of AI.

AI's weakness is it doesn't work well where there's not enough data. It can memorize all the recipes and correlate them to produce a good one. But it can't reach the level of the best chef in the world, because the best chefs don't have their methodology down as data. Even if they did, it would change rapidly enough to stay ahead.

With chess, it's the same board and pieces. A thousand years of experience and it can detect all moves, even the meme ones that crop up recently. Similar with DOTA, Go, music.

I tried to get it to write dialogue, and it writes very good ones! But it can't produce the shivers down your spine work nor do something like Harry Potter, which is about human relationships.

If I try to think about the list of

- skills that AI has already made obsolete

- skills that AI is likely to make obsolete in the near future

I'm struggling to come up with that many. It doesn't seem like too big of a deal.
