looking closely at the software, what they've done is pretty remarkable. due to loss in recording, the author home spun some pretty clever reconstruction techniques that start to look vaguely ml'ish. which is kind of the joke i guess. a lot of what people call ml and ai has been used for noisy signal decoding for a long, long time. |
