Most western nations would probably accept a declaration of independence from Taiwan. The only issue western countries currently have with Taiwan is it's claim for mainland china. Obviously they don't want to be careless, since China could try to invade them if they did that. So they would need quite some military backup from USA and Japan to make China accept their defeat. |
