What makes you think that a computer analogy is an apt description of the inner workings of the brain in the first place?

I see this analogy sometimes here on HN but as far as I can recall I have never heard anyone using it outside, let alone medical experts. So I am skeptical of the idea that this is the right angle to look at the brain.
