I absolutely agree with this article. I had never done any programming before college (6 years ago). On the first day of my freshmen year I began learning HTML. It was completely new to me at the time. After graduating I'd noticed that my coworkers 1.5 times my age who had been programming since they were in middle school were frequently coming to me for help.

The reason, I believe, is that our industry is constantly evolving. Once you've learned the basic concepts of programming, the only thing left to do is to keep up with new technologies as they come.
