I previously had T470s, which was a fine machine, except for short lived batteries and one soldered memory slot which, even if one slot was normal, really limited upgrading possibilities. But other than that, the experience was fine. Upgraded to T14 and have had nothing but problems. Battery management is the worst, you can choose quiet and sluggish or fans blasting all the time and ok, but not great performance. Some upgrades fix some issues but break things elsewhere. Based on this experience I can't recommend ,although it just might be this particular model (based on the forums it's not just my machine, but everyone with this model and some of the issues e.g. trackpoint dying seem to be shared with other recent models too). Can't comment on the Linux experience, only W10.
