Starting to see this a lot, and it makes all the words of encouragement feel fake, because it is always using words like "we" and linking back to their own stuff. It comes off as hollow.

What does this have to do with nerds? Articles like that are probably written by PR staff.

Not sure you're aware but, that's the CEO of Gitlab. It's poor taste, by nerds who should know better. We should be better than this.
I don't understand your insistance on "nerds" and don't see who "we" is supposed to be.
"we" as a company as opposed to the authors spontaneous feelings. I don't know about the nerd thing though
Does that mean that 0des is speaking as a Gitlab employee here? I'm sorry if the question is stupid, the whole thing sounds very confusing to me.
As far as I understood, the criticism is that OP as a chairman of Gitlab used 'we' to refer to the whole company as opposed to his own opinion. The criticism then refers to an appeal or sympathy grabbing with an economic motivation.

I couldn't care less to be honest, just clarifying what I understood.

Happy for Hashicorp, also love Gitlab.

Yeah, unless it's ice cream cake. I'm a sucker for that...
