If a company defaults and doesn't pay outstanding obligations to smaller vendors without much cash to keep it afloat, these smaller vendors also have to stop paying their vendors and fire workers to try to stay afloat, recursively I saw this play out at several businesses at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, until their business was deemed essential and they (along with their customers) were allowed to resume operations |
