It’s rubbish. Here’s the important sentence that is hand-waved away:

> When you find connections between something earlier to what is being said now, use arrows or lines to connect them.

Relations across context and meaning are not trivial.

Good quote. Many business slides look like this: boxes with words connected with arrows; no edge labels. Their authors revel in magical thinking, enjoying simplicity of unlabeled axes. But everybody interested in content must struggle to figure out which arrows even have the same meaning, and what that meaning is.
