For context, picking on Clojure because it too is a nice, niche language, https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&geo=US&q=%... But in fact the long term decline Google Trends gives for Mathematica and Clojure also shows for plenty of other languages, including mainstream ones such as JavaScript and Java. I'm not sure what the explanation is, but I'd be wary of relying on Google Trends to make predictions about the life expectancy of any particular language. |
