New CEOs generally have a lot of political capital upfront and many are chosen because they have a specific vision and strategy the company should take. So it actually makes the most sense to be bold first since there will be big new changes anyway. He’s also “learning the ropes” so much can be forgiven from his first couple of months. Finally his boldness will let him know the boundaries of his position & how much he can get away with. TLDR gotta flex to see your own power level. |
