Yes, and validation as well. If backups are not tested by actually retrieving data on a regular basis, you might get a nasty surprise. The Legato NetWorker bug which resulted in 64 bit XFS inodes not getting backed up bit Pixar very hard back in the day (LGTpa40680). |
