Europe has very progressive policies on some level, but also very regressive or unfriendly policies for business owners. Classic example is bankruptcy. In the US, chapter 11 is done as an almost routine "get me out of debt". This was impossible in Europe until very recently (EU Restructuring Directive, July 2021 was the deadline to implement). Personal bankruptcy is another good example where Europe just has no equivalent. |
