I don't think so. People used to be a lot closer to the slaughter of their meat, much more aware of what was involved. And obviously they loved meat. My uncle took me through his slaughterhouse when I was about 5. It was like a horror movie of screaming pigs, blood everywhere, heat, stench. Probably thought it would be fun for me to see, I don't know. I still love pork. |
