> FWIW, growing up in Italy I have the same complaint as the OP about not being able to type È in the italian keyboard -- it comes up somewhat often in prose. I always get a bit confused by those namings - maybe? On the one I'm talking about I'm realizing now it's actually two presses rather than one for É (E -> altgr+').
