We don't necessarily need to electrify everything, we can swap hydrocarbons from oil to synthetic hydrocarbons (or hydrogen) produced in a sustainable way, which may be considered 'zero net emissions'. For aviation, this may be easier and my feeling is that this is what will happen for airliners. |
