For Context: This question came up in the ongoing Kyle Rittenhouse trial today. The prosecution wanted Kyle to give testimony to a piece of video evidence, but it was to be played on an iPad and zoomed in on using the Pinch-to-Zoom feature. The defense objected with the concern that there could be algorithm(s) that alter the video in a way that could change small details

This is important because the video in question had to do with Kyle's weapon and where it was pointed taken from a drone footage far away, any alteration by an algorithm could misrepresent the few pixels that represented said weapon.

I concider myself tech-savy but was set aback when this was brought up. If AI does fill in the gaps it makes sense it can not be used. Which apparently it does, how interesting.
