I'm sure I could keep going, but I think I've made my point. At the very least, you should be able to understand how I got the impression that the current administration disfavors border enforcement (as if the record-high legal immigration, that continued even under Trump, was not enough).

This is exactly what I'm talking about.

I assume by presenting this you're trying to make the argument that "a person could read these headlines and reasonably assume border laws aren't enforced by the current administration."

But this is exactly what I mean by ignorance or lying. If you cherry pick a bunch of headlines and quotes from conservative figures and present them without context, then it seems to me that you're attempting to "spin" the news to match your agenda, which is another word for lying. Lying with the truth is sometimes the best kind of lie.

And anyone who reads this and assumes that somehow CBP and ICE are disbanded and the border is a total free-for-all "because of the libs" is being willfully ignorant and not seeking out a fuller picture to really understand the situation.

I don't mean to put all the blame on the individual reader, but a certain due diligence and skepticism when presented with headlines and quotes like this is warranted. There's also a lot of propaganda out there, which is also a big problem with no clear solution.

Sorry for the miscommunication. Yes, you are technically correct. I did not mean to imply that the border is literally not being enforced at all. Only that the enforcement is deliberately undercut to make it ineffective. I believe the news reports presented suffice to make that conclusion.
