Windows is trying to swallow linux. That's all there is to it.

Embrace, extend, extinguish... Soon enough WSL2 will have (nice) capabilities that the natively installed Linux won't.
Embrace, extend, extinguish... what? Desktop Linux marketshare is 1% at best.

Linux won on mobile (Android - 70%+), server (hard to say, maybe 90%?), cloud (same) and "big" embedded (have no idea, but it's used for most retail routers, various tools, etc), it can't be extinguished.

Cool. Then I’ll create Linux only applications and be compatible on both platforms. Bye bye to Win32, I guess.
There was a reason for me to dual boot Linux before. There's no reason now. Windows now fulfills all my needs. OS singularity.
Not sure if the pun was intended, but Microsoft had an experimental OS called Singularity.

Legend says it was so heavy it sucked.

Ba dum tsss

Not just trying to swallow, they have pretty much swallowed it. The one last thing that is missing is `cryptsetup` support in WSL and as soon as that works, I don't see using Linux myself anymore.
