Indeed Tokyo and other parts of Japan are clean and well run. It’s a cultural thing. I spent some in Europe about 15 years ago and likewise it was clean as well. I used to get stared at for crossing streets when you’re not supposed to (no cars but without the light). There were very few bums or beggars either. From what I hear, things have changed in some places. Not sure the cause. Sometimes strikes maybe cultural things as well. |
