Really sorry to hear this. I am currently going through a similar situation with my father. I don't have any good coping mechanisms for you, sorry. All I can say is try and spend as much time with your loved ones as possible and be present when you do. I love getting my family (parents especially) to tell stories about their lives, good fun.
